Well-thought-out LED mirror with long term serviceability (you can replace the electronics and LEDs). Some minor negatives, but worth the trouble. This review focuses on installation and service. When planning our new bathroom we wanted a LED mirror but had concerns about reliability since this would require custom framing, electrical, plaster, paint, etc and we didn’t want to have to rip out and redo all that for two mirrors in our double vanity if one mirror failed for some minor reason. A big issue is that those in-glass touch screen controls and displays seem at risk to fail. After reading the reviews and using intuition, we figured anything that may be installed for decades should be reliable and serviceable. The fact that this mirror design keeps it simple was a big positive for us. It’s basically a recessed mirror medicine cabinet with two light boxes integrated on the sides which. You can open up those boxes and service the leds if needed (see pics). Negatives (depending on how you look at it) You cannot select color temperature, you cannot dim, it does not have anti fog mirror heater, or a clock, no touch screen controls, it requires an external electrical switch to turn off/on, the lights also only come bright enough to light your face and won’t really be a replacement for general lighting. You could view those as negatives, but it’s just less stuff to break and not a priority for our needs. On the plus side, we are able to hook up the mirror to a smart switch (which was a priority) As others have said this mirror is heavy. It is BUILT—Possibly over-built lol. It’s a heavy metal cabinet with thick gauge metal (steel?) covered in paint. I assume this will hold up and not rust. The glass is very thick and the mirror door has significant thickness and heft as well. I haven’t even installed this yet and I can already tell it will require some patience, thinking, and probably two people. The instructions don’t provide any instruction how to recess it or rough in dimensions. Frankly, the cabinet design doesn’t lend itself to recessed install by default very well. There is a built in flange to engage with plaster/drywall, but some of the geometry will make it tricky. The only mounting holes are on the back side of the cabinet (like for a surface install) none on the sides or top. IMO anyone attempting a recessed install can probably roll with the punches on this. Measure the cabinet, don’t use the listen dimensions. Plan how you will support and secure it. I’ll try and update with any issues / praises, but this is information I wanted to have before I purchased and I hope its helpful to others.

Excellent mirror, great build quality -- The light color is important so be sure to order the RIGHT ONE!! This one is about 5000k on the Kelvin scale meaning its the bright white light, not the warmer toned one. This is the same color lighting they have on makeup mirrors, which is important if you want a happy wife/gf lol -- Also it looks great, this is my 7th one I've got - Put them in all my rental properties and tenants LOVE it. Easy selling point cause the guy will always side with the girl :)

Glad I got this on closeout sale. It is perfect size for my 3/4 bathroom and we attached a plug to it so it connects with outlet instead of hardwire

How do you turn off the light? Do you simply unplug?
