Whynter 12000 BTU Inverter Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner for 500 sq. ft. with Smart Wi-Fi

When this unit works, it’s great but I keep getting an error code that isn’t in the booklet that came with the air conditioner (lots of other error codes are in there). I live in a very dry climate. Because the dehumidifier has such a small compartment, I have to empty it close to every hour. If I don’t the entire house feels like a swamp (while it’s still dry outside) and actually feels worse than being just hot and dry. So if I leave it on and go out, it’s pretty bad when I come back. Can’t get the thing to turn on from my phone like I’m supposed to either. Unless I’m in front of it which kind of defeats the purpose. I’ll be looking into other options. I only used this thing a for maybe two months but it’s not worth it. Wish I could return.

Very nice unit with clear instructions for opening the package and for setting up/installing the unit.

Perfect for the bedroom space in which it’s placed. Only negative would be the hose length not being long enough.

I love the Whynter dual hose portable airconditioners. I have 3 of the same model. They are quiet and cools the rooms pretty quick. The only problem is draining from the lower vent which is way too low and combersum to get the water out but that is not a big issue. I place the A/Cs on a stool for easier draining. Definitely I recommend this ac. Side note: one got damaged while shipping, so just beware..

Dual hose support give the unit time to recover from excess heat in the room and outside the window without compromising or damaging compressor.

Powerful but little bit loud

I can’t speak to other units but this was my first experience using any kind of portable AC. Set up was extremely easy and it got to work immediately! I’m sort of insane and like to keep my bedroom at around 64 degrees when I sleep and it does it perfectly!

I've used this AC model for 2.5 years now and I'm still amazed at how quiet it is. We are currently experiencing a heat wave with temperatures above 35c + humidity and even running in high, the majority of the noise is just air/fan noise - you can hardly hear the compressor run. Under normal conditions (it usually gets up to between 28c - 32c here) when set to 'auto' the unit doesn't make any noise at all and it seems to have no trouble keeping the room cool.

We bought this unit because it did not require draining, we previously had a small unit for the loft space in our A Frame home and it required that we put it up on a pedestal and had a bucket for the unit to drain into - then of course we had to watch and empty it frequently. So we LOVE this unit and the fact that it does not require that, it cools the space down quickly and it's convenient to have the remote control if you are in the other side of the loft too! Highly recommend this unit if you have a small space.
