11 months later and it kept us warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Still great purchase! -Our AC broke in the middle of a heatwave in Northern Virginia. This AC unit cooled our downstairs townhouse first floor. I don’t know how but it did. We used ceiling fans to help distribute air but this was amazing. I plan on buying one or two more in case the issue arises again. So happy with this purchase.

This stopped working at some point before 1 year. My husband went to turn on for warm season and it didn’t cool. Customer service had him take it apart himself for diagnostics then finally tell him he could ship it back at his cost and they may or may not fix it under warranty, AVOID WHYNTER

We have had this AC since 2021, it is now 2025. It still works awesome. The filter is easy to access and clean. It is an overall good unit. Would recommend for 400 sq foot or less. Ours is slightly more and it does not cool the further areas as well. The heater only works in 50ish degrees or more. Would purchase this same unit again.

Works well in ac mode but heater constantly needs to have the condensation tray emptied

Installed unit in Palm Springs in January 2024, but too cold to use. Ran machine in March and it stopped after one day with an E1 error message. Called Whynter and they sent a 3 page do-it-yourself repair guide to take apart and fix a loose sensor. Pictures in the instructions don't match my unit easily. Packed up machine to return for warranty repairs. Not impressed with these made in China products. Update 18 April 2025: Chenie at Whynter warranty repairs handled it amazingly! She even held it until I returned to my vacation home in the desert. She extended the warranty to start when the unit was shipped back to me! 5 star service, and the machine has been working flawlessly since!

I gave this a five star because I think it is efficient for a 500 square-foot room which I have to cool. However and yes here it comes the however it took my boyfriend over an hour and a half to two hours to put it together. It might’ve been my own fault because I did not measure the length of the window I had to put it in at the time and where I was going to put it in my living room. So we had to have an additional 4 inches to cover in my longer window.Overall I think it is a wonderful air conditioner that cools my room just fine. I chose white because my walls are white and blends in well. Very efficient

The unit arrived on time and well packaged. The setup was pretty easy. It does a great job of keeping my room cool and it runs quiet. My only issue I have with this product was that the one of the exhaust hose connectors had paint stains on it. Showing that this item may have been returned by previous purchaser.

3 stars because it has "The good, the bad and the unknown:" I've never provided a review on wayfair before so I think three stars is appropriate and if I can go back and edit I will. The Unknown: I just purchased this and set it up in the summer, so I don't know if the heat works. More to follow. The good: We have an approximately 350 sq. ft studio we are using this appliance for. When I set it up, it cooled the area down quickly. The bad: I was able to set this up fairly quickly and the instructions were pretty straight forward; however, as you can see from the pictures, the window sleeve is not designed very well. My window is 32.5" wide. The sleeve leaves a pretty large gap with the window. I had to add a significant amount of weather stripping to it so I could seal most of the leaks. If I can edit this review or update it later I will based on the performance of the unit.
