Great product, was alot of work to install, but works great and we feel Safe using it.. we are using this in a 108 sq. Ft. Bunkie in northern Ontario, during the day we keep just on pilot, keeps building warm, at night on low and perfectly warm, one blanket on. Super nice, its -26 right now and perfect. Bought this for my 65 sq ft basement bathroom. It gets pretty cold in the winter and the central heating wasn't doing the trick. It project a nice constant heat, that is very comfortable for Toronto's fall weather. Not sure if it will be able to keep the bathroom warm this winter, but we'll see. We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location.
