White Black Solid Wood Freestanding Fireplace

This could have been a wonderful 5-star review ... if only the fireplace worked. The mantel looks wonderful. I love my room with it in it. But this is supposed to be an electrical fireplace, not merely a piece of furniture. It's supposed to heat the room and to display a realistic looking flame. It did none of that when I got it. The remote doesn't work at all. And ever since it arrived, nearly a month ago, I've been trying to get someone to help me fix or replace this. After a few phone calls they promised to send a replacement for the firebox. But then I got an email saying the replacement was canceled. It turns out that was an error. I did get a package, but I had no idea what it was. No indication it came from Wayfair. It didn't look like the firebox. It was some sort of transformer/converter, with all print in Chinese, which I can't read. I finally spent an hour on the phone with a very nice lady at Wayfair, and we figured out that the transformer fixed part of the problem. I got heat! But the remote still doesn't work and I can't access most functions. And if I turn the heat on, I need to burn my fingers to turn it off on the fireplace without the remote. So I'm waiting for a new remote. To be continued ....
