It is certainly OK for the price, but compared to a regular ironing board it is not very sturdy. The install location needs to be wide open on either side for at least 5 feet for this to be easily usable, especially if the person is left handed.

I rarely iron anything, but when you need an ironing board, you need an ironing board. Traditional ones are a pain to store and lug out. I had this one installed with some minor construction I was having done. It's well made and sturdy. I put a light stain on it and a brushed nickel knob (it came with a wood one). Perfect!

This built in ironing board is so convenient. Works great. The board stays up without a problem no latch. A clear coat was put over the wood. Can sew or iron while I watch TV is close to the laundry room.
