I give this a two due to the uniqueness of the item. However, I received this twice and both times it was damaged. I requested a replacement and it was just as damaged as the first one. The problem I believe was in the packaging. Multiple items were either detached or broken on both shipments. This is an expensive item and I would have thought it would have been secured inside its original box and have additional padding in the packing box. To have to glue back together a new 100 (on sale) item doesn’t make me happy but I will glue it together because I do like the nutcracker. Lesson learned - do not order fragile items, especially around the holidays.

Perfect for my 14 year old who collects nutcrackers and loves sailing ⛵️

The design of the nutcracker is real nice, but I was somewhat disappointed in its construction. The sailboat on the top of his head was loose and easy to lift right off the dowel inside. I had to repair it with a glue gun. I also had to glue the life preserver back on that was detached from the base. One of the little handles on the sides of the tub holding the boat was inserted poorly/crookedly, but there is nothing I can do about it. I gave this nutcracker for a gift and the recipient loves it, but I am very glad that I unpacked it and looked it over and was able to repair some things before giving it to her. As for the packing, the styrofoam was a shredding all over the place. It should have been packed in heavier styrofoam inside the box. I guess coming all the way from China was rough on it. It says it was designed in the USA but made in China. I wish it was made here.

I LOVE Kurt Adlers nutcrackers, but this one arrived with the top ship part of the head completely broken off and had marks on the bottom shoeplatform area. I requested a new one. Hopefully, that arrives in one piece. Other that the packing issue , its a really beautiful nutcracker and I would definitely buy again from this collection
