Its light weight and filter out the amount of light passing through making the room not overly bright to your eye when looking at it. The silver metal looks very modern and goes with everything in the room. Such a high-quality, made light. I would definitely recommend this product. It was very easy to install & increased the lighting in our basement greatly!! The appearance is also much more modern as well. We will be buying more for our house!
