Fixture Finish:White
Perfect! Matched the footprint of the previous light blends right into the ceiling. Bright light. Well packaged everything was included needed for the install.

We installed this light in the ceiling above a mudroom to replace an old 2-bulb fluorescent fixture. It is a soft light and quite bright - seems roughly the same brightness as 2 or 3 traditional 60W bulbs but spread over the full surface area. There were no bright spots in the lit surface which gives it a premium look. The build quality is also quite nice - accidentally dropped it about a foot once with no damage. It is fairly light weight, so it is installable by one person as long as you can hold 20 pounds over your head for a couple of minutes. The finish looks a bit plastic, but it's on the ceiling, so you can't really tell once it's installed. My only complaint is about the metal mount and install. The install basically involves 1) attaching a 4-foot long sheet metal mounting piece to the ceiling and wiring to that, 2) hanging the light from the mount on small steel cables and then plugging the light into it, and 3) sliding the light onto one side of the mount into two sheet metal tabs, lifting the other side, then tightening a single bolt into a small recess in the mount. The backing piece has only two screw holes that are labeled for ceiling attachment, which are right at the ends, although there are many other holes all over the piece. Because the install location was not aligned with those holes, I initially attached it directly to joists using other holes about 4 inches toward the center on either side (i.e., instead of inches 1 and 48, I attached at inches 5 and 44). Apparently that was far enough toward the center so that when I tried to mount it, the end of the sheet metal mount bent about 45 degrees downward, and the light fell off. Fortunately 1) the stud screws held, so the mount didn't go anywhere and 2) the steel cables held, which is probably why it has them, so the light only fell about 6 inches before stopping, held in midair by those cables. I ended up running to the store to purchase toggle bolts to hold the ends in, in addition to using the joist screws. To be fair, the instructions say toggle bolts are required but not provided, but I had assumed that moving the screws a few inches toward the center to hit the joists would be more secure. It was not. So my recommendation is to install the toggle bolts at the ends regardless of whether you screw it into joists as well. Since getting it onto the ceiling, it's been great!
