I got the multi-colored lights, and they're so gorgeous! Takes me back to my childhood. They're fragile, so you have to be careful, and they're somewhat hot, so it's important to put them where they won't risk fire. That's why people don't use this kind anymore, isn't it. I broke one of the bulbs accidentally just by letting it touch the floor a little too easily - luckily it didn't make the whole strand worthless, I just moved it so the empty was closer to the plug. The warmth and festive feeling of them is undeniably better than anything else. I hung them on cup hooks from the ceiling two inches from the wall and they look fantastic without touching anything. Lovely!

These are beautiful but they get instantly so hot that I didn't feel safe using them at all. I'm not some safety obsessive but as soon as you plug them in, they're so hot you can't touch them for more than a second or two. After letting them sit in a closet for a few years, I'm preparing to just throw them away. I wouldn't even feel comfortable giving them away. Wanted to warn others.

These look great on my tree! Everyone loves how they brighten it up and stand out against the other bulbs. I'm just concerned with how hot they get. We don't leave the tree lights on for an extended period of time, and never when we leave the house.

These work well but it is dependent upon how bright the sun is during the day. On a sunny day they light up nice and stay on all night until dawn. I put them out in November when the days are shorter so I look forward to how they will work in the summer once the days are longer. But for holiday decorating I thought they worked well.
