This oven boasts the benefits of a full-size cocotte in a compact size. Get fluffy rice, tender grains, and creamy oatmeal thanks to Staub's signature new lid. Staub's latest innovation, the Chistera drop-structure lid, has solved the challenge of curved lids - they limit moisture to sides - by ensuring continuous condensation throughout. Unlike countertop rice cookers, Staub's Petite French oven can be transported from the stovetop to the table. No need for serving bowls; these charming cocottes take care of both cooking and plating. Rice has never been so easy to make.

If you want to make delicious, healthy casseroles for a group, a large roasting pan is essential: this is where the oval Staub cocotte comes in. Measuring 37 cm wide, 18 cm high and 42.8 cm long including handles, the pan has a capacity of 8 L and is ideal for presenting food at the table due to its clean design and classic black colour. The inside of the casserole dish features a black enamel coating, predominantly made of glass. Glass is particularly good at retaining heat and also distributes it evenly and slowly throughout the food. Usable on all heat sources, including induction hobs and ovens, the cocotte is a practical piece of cookware that can be used to prepare a wide variety of different recipes. The self-basting system, which consists of a specially designed under-lid drop structure, helps keep meat dishes succulent and tender, whilst the handles on either side of the pan help you to move it safely from oven to table. The cocotte's exceptional heat-retaining properties are also an advantage when preparing cold dishes or desserts: simply place the cocotte in the fridge until the time has come to serve the food. Enjoy fresh tasting food that is always just the right temperature with this La Cocotte casserole dish.

Great cocotte for large family meals. Excellent heat retention. The basting spikes really do work and keep the dish moist. I use it mainly for making large batches of biryani that will feed up to 20 people. I absolutely love it.. D.w.. Vancouver. Sun Mar 10 2024

The cast iron tajine from STAUB delivers traditional, North African braised dishes to your kitchen: Whether you're preparing tasty meat dishes or vegetarian delicacies with a wide variety of vegetables this cookware allows both hobby and professional chefs to conjure up aromatic, healthy meals. Originally developed by the Berber tribes of Morocco, the tajine still plays an important role in the preparation of North African specialities. Naturally, it can also be used to spoil guests interested in cuisine with recipes from all over the world. The special shape of the conical ceramic lid ensures a particularly strong aroma. Because it is also airtight, fragrances and flavours are kept inside. The all-rounder made of cast iron can not only be used on all types of cookers, but also in the oven or on the barbeque. This allows food seared on the barbeque to continue braising in the oven, where it unfolds its flavours.

I picked this Staub, because the cast-iron base means you avoid the two drawback of traditional pottery bases. You don’t have to worry about putting down a diffuser to avoid cracking, and you can add acids without damaging the seasoning. The lid was easy to season the first time and has held up well. Note that this is not a large model. It will fit enough food to serve a full meal for up to three people. Maybe four but you’d be stretching things. Well worth the investment.. Patrick G. Ottawa, ON. This cocotte is ideal for preparing different dishes at the same time. This cocotte has a steamer insert, which allows you to use the rising steam to cook vegetables at the same time. Without the steamer insert, you can also use the cocotte as a casserole dish and cook delicious meat or vegetable dishes with a range of different ingredients. The Cocotte is round and has a diameter of 10 inches: it is made of cast iron with matte black enameling on the inside. These two materials make this casserole dish outstanding for frying and slow cooking, as cast iron conducts heat very well and the enamel brings out the natural flavours of the food. The steamer insert is made of high-grade 18/10 stainless steel and has a silicone seal by means of which heat is ideally distributed. The cocotte can be used on all kinds of cooking surfaces including induction hobs or can be placed into the oven with dishes that need to cook for longer. It is perfect for when you have invited a number of guests. Be sure to use this cocotte to serve from oven to table. Use this casserole dish to serve stylishly tasty slow-cooked stews or casseroles, or even a delicious ratatouille.

The 5-quart Tall/Deep Round Cocotte is a taller version of the classic 4-quart cocotte, making it the ideal tool for cooking larger quantities, without taking up valuable stovetop space. The additional height is especially useful in cooking bone-in meat cuts like crown roasts as well as layered dishes like tians, or dishes that rise, such as soufflés. Plus, the added height reduces the risk of liquids boiling over and reduces splatter when deep-frying or searing. Like all STAUB cocottes, the Tall Cocotte is unsurpassed for slow-cooking meats and vegetables to tender perfection, and for simmering hearty stews and soups. Cast iron possesses exceptional heat-retaining qualities, so the pot heats evenly throughout. With a heavy weight, tight-fitting lid that retains moisture and tiny spikes on the lid interior that create a rain-forest effect evenly returning juices back onto food, you can expect moist, perfectly cooked food every time you use this pan. The large round tray also keeps the oven clean, meaning that you don't need to think about anything other than the meal at hand.
