Very pleased with this bed! After purchasing another wooden loft bed also from Wayfair that not only came with a few damaged pieces, but missing pieces as well my husband and I were hesitant about this bed, but were surprised. This bed came on time with all pieces, no damage and was packaged a hundred times better. Instructions were pretty straightforward and bed is extremely sturdy which was our main concern. Our four year old climbs up and down the ladder with ease. Material bins are also well made and strip lights add a cool touch. Love this bed! It has a few quirks, though. First, I think if possible, you should put the side of the without the stairs against a wall to prevent too much wobbling. I tried stairs to the wall and had some movement when climbing in the bed. As for the height, I am a 55 adult, and I only need to duck a small amount to fit under the bed, so this bed is great for short adults and teens! I had my 6 foot friend test it out for fun, and he definitely didnt fit. For roof space, that varies from person to person Im sure, I have had a bunk bed most of my life so being close to the roof doesnt bother me, but if you get claustrophobic easily, mesure your room first and then yourself to make sure you have a sufficient amount of space. The bed itself can not be put together alone. You need at least one other person to help because it becomes a lot quickly. The boards are held together by tension, and its very secure, and I havent had any issues with it (my weight is 185 for reference). The lights that come with the bed are kinda cheap though, the options on the remote dont match what the lights do, so if you want the LED lights to have colors like pink, orange, yellow and most greens (its mostly blue and teal settings) get another strip from a different brand. For mattress size, Im sure a slim is definitely the way to go, but if you have a thicker mattress and arent at risk for rolling off the bed, then youll be alright, just mesure the thickness first so you know how itll fit, honestly measuring things is key with this bed, as long as you are happy with whatever mesuments you get, youll love this bed.. This loft bed was exactly what we were looking for. My husband put it together in 3 hours; pretty simple instructions. One thing I wanted to note!: This bed can be built with the stairs on EITHER SIDE. We were so confused looking at the photos trying to figure out which side the stairs were on, but it comes with two sets of instructions, one for each side, so that worked out perfectly. We added some support to the wall because it does shake a bit if you're up on the bed. You do need to get a 6 inch mattress or else the safety bars won't reach above the mattress. I LOVE THIS BED! The quality is great and very sturdy. Inwas very surprised at how well the wood feels and is very sturdy. A simple twin mattress is enough. There is not enough room for a double or thick style twin bed on top. A queen air mattress fits underneath, so a double would definetly fit. Having 2 people to build it is the best way. Directions were great and all parts are supplied. I would advise to have a better hex/allen wrench set as the included one is not the greatest quality.
