The layers aren’t connected and lined with plastic I think this is to add to the lumosity. Overall it’s pretty light and thin in its construction but not in a way that would make me think it would be easy to break. It came with all the parts that you would need to have them be connected to the ceiling with ample length in the wire. The dimmer is really nice. We couldn’t figure out the color online but that’s because color changes with the lighting throughout the day. It appears to be hand blown glass so there is no seams but there are slight imperfections in the glass (bubbles).
