Bejmat tiles are Moroccan subway tiles that have been used since way before subways were a thing. Shaped into 2" x 6" bricks that are almost 3/4" thick they can be used in a variety of patterns. Stagger them, stack them, alternate vertical and horizontal designs or lay them as a standard brick design—the choice is yours.

Natural Unglazed

Villa Lagoon Tile's unglazed Moroccan Zellige provides a beautiful, rustic surface. No machine-made replica can match the rich and varied finish of these hand-crafted old-world tiles. These rectangular Bejmat tiles are thicker pavers, great for floors and patios, but still, light enough for well-constructed wall use. Professional installation is required.

I purchased the Moroccan handmade zellige tiles in the color ‘Oceanside’ from Wayfair for my bathroom floor, and I am thrilled with the result. The beautiful blue hue of the tiles, with plenty of variation, matches the name perfectly—it really does resemble deep blue water on the floor. The tiles arrived well-packaged, with only a few field pieces broken, which wasn’t a major issue. While there were some minor chips on the edges, using a similar color grout and cutting the edges made them blend in nicely, so they’re hardly noticeable. It is easy to picture the sun-drenched streets of Spain when looking at our Faenza series ceramic patterned wall & floor tile. Save time and labour spent arranging smaller square tiles and instead install these durable ceramic slabs, which have nine squares separated by scored grout lines. This breathtaking blue glaze features a collection of encaustic-inspired designs. Meringue

These are 6"x2" Bejmat tiles (150x50x13mm). Bejmat are a particular style of rectangular Glazed Zellige tiles, with slabs cut before firing. These thinner bejmat help reduce the weight for wall applications. Produced by hand in Fez, Morocco, these Moroccan mosaic floor tiles are known the world over. Still made with the local clays, and fired in kilns powered by olive pits, these rectangular floor tiles are authentic Zellige (zellij).
