The bed itself is fantastic once built. My son loves it and we bolted it to the wall. It only comes with a certain type of anchor for cement walls. I ended up buying bolts. This bed is like 500lbs no lie. We had to dismantle the front panel in order to get it up the stairs and even dismantled the weight of it was very sketchy. This bed is never leaving this room.. This Murphy Bed comes in several heavy boxes with a lot of pieces. I must say it came together beautifully and will fit our needs for additional modern style storage and sleep space when we have overnight guests. The material is somewhat sturdy manufactured wood which is only noticeable up close. The frame will definitely only fit a 10 inch mattress or less. We tried a 12 in and the main door will not close. As many have mentioned, it would have been great to have shelves inside the cabinet but if you're handy you can easily install some for more storage. I have been shopping around for a quality Murphy bed for quite some time and almost bought a $4000 model but I'm glad I was able to save once I found this one for a fraction of the cost. The finished product is beautiful! I love that it has small reading lights within the bed frame, becasue side table lamps would be difficult to reach from the bed. The assembly was laborious and required familiarity with furniture/cabinetry assembly along with some problem-solving. The number provided for customer support within the packaging is disconnected, so I wouldn't count on that. I was hesitant to order because of the reviews on missing pieces, but we had everything we needed. However, there was a piece with predrilled holes on the wrong side, so we drilled new holes. If you aren't extremely handy, or if you don't have a professional to assemble this product, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're confident in your abilities, it's worth the effort!. Ashley. Assembly took ~6 person hours with a couple of mistakes that required taking some pieces apart and reassembling. Multiple pieces were not labeled with numbers and the instructions were somewhat difficult to follow. This piece is very sturdy but note that it weighs ~240 lbs in total. Converting it from a cabinet to a bed is definitely a 2 person operation as the top is quite heavy. A 6" trifold mattress just barely fits - it makes it hard to use the latch and puts pressure on the front panel such that it slightly bends outwards.
