These lanterns are beautiful! I got the bronze. They are well made with attention to detail. The instructions state to charge them for 6 hours. I received them at 3:45 pm. My apartment faces east, and the sun was already over my apartment building, no longer on my balcony or coming in any windows. I set them on the balcony receiving only daylight. At dark, they lit right up full power. So, either they were already charged, or the daylight was adequate for charging. I get only about 3 hours of sun on my balcony due to trees and the building east of mine being higher on a ridge and blocking sun at times , so they have never been charged for 6 hours straight. Simply remove the rubber moisture seal that came with your globe, select between the White and UV LED light setting (use the latter with an Illuminarie gazing globe - recommended), place the solar light module in the neck of the globe, reapply the rubber moisture seal over the neck to secure the module in place and you're in business! No tools required for assembly. Increases glow crystal brightness and duration.
