Everything has been Meraviglioso!! The plate sets match my lava stone table that I bought in Italy and had shipped to me! Color was perfect, they feel sturdy. I read a few reviews that said they had some chipping of their plates. I have had stoneware before and I feel these should not easily chip unless of course they are dropped or not handled with care. Just use caution. I like the lip on the plates, shape and size of bowls. The cups are great size for coffee, definitely not a small cup! I would give these 10 stars if I could! Love them and color!!. Perfect farmhouse dinnerware nicely sized, especially the mugs which are nicely weighted and not too large like many mugs are now days. The dishes are a pleasing medium gray color with darker speckles and bronze/brown-colored rims. This dinnerware seems to be of decent quality and does NOT get hot in the microwave. One mug came with a chipped rim, and another had a defect inside; one plate had a deep scratch, so I have requested replacements. I used sandpaper on the unglazed bottoms where they were a little rough, so they won't scratch the other plates when stacking. Hopefully, this set won't have to be babied too much because it is basically what I was looking for and was reasonably priced: $40.00 on sale.
