We liked the mattress protector overall. I ordered them two one for my master queen bed and the other for my guest room bed. It is indeed cooling, and it's quite firm. But it took 9 days of airing for the chemical odour to fade, which was very strong at first. And the instructions make no sense, saying both to use and not use scissors cut the plastic wraps around the topper.
