It does read neon green when turned on, not gonna lie, but It's still very fun! The base is heavier so it doesn't topple over with the heaviness of the real stained glass. And it comes with a perfect-fit lightbulb!!! Most lamps don't so I was pleasantly surprised that this one did! One last note, the lamp wire was conveniently long enough for me to hide behind by white and copper canisters and plug-in quite a distance away, but keep my lamp where I wanted it in my kitchen. YAY!
