This lamp is even more beautiful in person! It is a solid made piece. Bigger than I thought, but I found a perfect place for it.

Gorgeous! As beautiful as the picture and then some. It is a large, heavy, impressive piece. The globe, in the day light, is purple hued and not so much the orange feel I expected. It is comprised of clear glass with a soft purple grout overlaying a turquoise sparkle glass which forms the shell banding. These turquoise bands are outlined with purple sparkle glass. When lit, the turquoise bands turn a dark pink and the purple, a lighter pink. The mermaid is well a done, artistic sculpture. Realistic and sensual, with a pretty face; a relief from the all too common cartoonish versions. It's a stunning piece and well worth the price.
