The light bulb sticks out over the top. It would be better with a halogen and a dimmer switch.

Good quality. Quick assembly. Two minor issues: the dish/shade wasn't quite deep enough to hide the bulb I used. It kind of peeks over the top edge of the shade. I am taller so others may never notice it. The switch is just on/off. A dimmer switch would be a nice upgrade. Lamp is a good value for the price point.

The Dumbarton 72’’ Torchiere Lamp is well constructed and easy to assemble. The black and bronze accents make the Lamp very attractive for any room. I would like to see a dimmer switch instead of an on and off switch.

More assembly needed than I expected.

This lamp is decent, but it was not what I expected, and is not worth the price. I found it when I searched for "halogen" torch lamps, and I thought it would be the same as the old halogen lamp I have that looks identical... with the long thin flat dimmable halogen bulb. It's not. It takes a regular E26 bulb, and is not dimmable. The knob just keeps turning and clicking off and on to the same light level. With a little work, I was able to bend the bulb attachment so the E26 halogen bulb I found doesn't show over the top of the lamp. (The main reason I wanted this lamp is that I'm very sensitive to bright light (especially LED), and it's hard to find lamps that throw a lot of light that don't show the bulb.)

Very very disappointed… I had one just like this my whole childhood and it just died. I searched all over trying to find it!!! I was so happy I found it thinking this was it. Nope!!! Bulbs different only on off work with a 3 way bulb very unsatisfied. Probably going back

I had almost the same lamp and it died after probably more than 20 years. On this lamp I like how everything is connected with the wire. What I don’t like is the top is plastic instead of metal and the bill shows from the top

The top of the Torchiere was much smaller than I thought it would be. It does do a good job lighting a large room.

This was a bummer & I wish I had heeded the other reviews that the lamp looked cheap, but I thought that was more of a style preference. It is actually a cheap build - the green glass is plastic & all 'gold' fittings including the switch are very thin plastic. I plugged the lamp into an outlet with a wall switch because I am positive it will break with regular use. The shade itself is quite shallow and narrow, so it does not throw light across the ceiling very far and any higher watt led or cfl bulbs are visible above the shade. This lamp should definitely cost less than $50 and I would have returned it had I bought it at a store.

Nice. Simple to assemble. Wish they left out the green plastic at the top.
