My only complain is the length of the cord from the wall to the step turn on button, I have the cord wrapped around the base to deal with all the excess.

These lamps have served us well. The only odd thing is that you have to do a lot of clicking the button to get the color of light that you want, because there aren't two separate controls for the color and the on/off switch -- it's just one button. So unless you're OK with the light changing from red to blue to white every time you turn the lamp on, you have to click it five times to get it back to the color you prefer: on-off (white), on-off (blue), on (red).
