Lampe sur pied Preciado

I’m disappointed in this lamp. It is gorgeous, but not able to be used as intended because it will not stand up on its own. I feel that because the lampshade is made of iron, it is too heavy for the pole. The base is heavy marble but still not heavy enough to keep the lamp upright. In order to use it, I had to push the base under my sofa to keep the pole straight.

This lamp is unfortunately not functional or safe as designed. The base can’t support the weight of the extended arm and shade. The connection between the base and the rod is loose and wobbly, we tried many things to get it to stay up, the lamp bends forward and tips over. We had to place a 20lb weight on the base just to keep it standing, which is not practical. The base design and structural connection need to be stronger for this lamp to be usable. If the main rod that connects to the base was able to stand straight as it should, it would work. It’s a beautifully designed lamp and definitely looks lovely overall. But it will not stand up.
