This is a beautiful piece!!!! It is made of some sort of lightweight plastic material, but looks like plaster. I used it on a major wall, surrounded in square by chair rail moulding. It has created an elegant and serene atmosphere for a small, lovely sitting room. Love the simplicity of the design. It is not ornate, and , it is certainly not boring!

Have used three of these over the years. The material is rigid, paintable and easy to install. Added exactly what we needed for the ceiling. Do not purchase the one that say Thermoformed - those are just a piece of hollow plastic
