Cord hangs down the center of the base ,( not depicted in photo) no dimming feature along with the On/ Off switch placement is 6 inches from the plug and Not close to the lamp makes no sense to me.

I didn’t notice the pattern on the shade but I wish it would be solid. The cord should be wired through the base vs hanging down, which you can’t notice. I used clear zip ties to attach the cord to the leg of the base and colored them with a sharpie to hide. Expensive lamp for what you get.
