Margolis 3 - Blade Ceiling Fan with Remote Control and Light Kit Included

My wife and I are very happy with this light. At the advice of another reviewer, we asked the contractor who installed it to trim the rod to the ceiling. He trimmed about 4” off. I am 6’ and I have 8’ ceilings and I have around 5” or so of clearance when I stand underneath it. The fan is impressive and silent up to about Level 4 (1-6), then you start to hear the motor working ever so slightly. For each time you turn the fan on, it does rev up for 1-2 seconds, then slows down to your requested speed. I noticed that the website says to use Max 40watt Bulbs, but the sticker on the chandelier says Max 25w. However, LEDs have become the new standard, and a comparable 40w and 60w incandescent bulb will drop down to 4w and 6w respectively for each LED bulb (Same Brightness, less Watts), so you’re good. But if you plan to use incandescent bulbs, know that you will be capped at 25w. If you have never bought LED bulbs before, pay close attention to color temperature. I bought 2700k (best mimics incandescent color warmth). Stay away from anything 3000k or above (Blue/Blinding/Harsh). Also, and I don’t know who needs to hears this, but do not use a dimmer switch on this, or any other fan. It will burn out the motor. Lastly, I really wanted to know what the fan looked like from below, but there were no pics of that, so I included that as well. Its a gorgeous light. You won’t be disappointed!

This fan exceeded my expectations! Not only is it gorgeous it cools beautifully! I just love it!

The price is a little steep although it is very beautiful. The fan gives off good wind circulation. The lights could be a little brighter but it works in my small space. I have an older home with 8-12' ceilings. This does hang down further so make sure you measure the ceiling height as this is a very substantial light/fan. I used the short down rod that came with the fixture although I really should have modified it and cut 3-4 inches off and then it would be absolutely perfect.
