This light is not meant for a bathroom without windows where it will be the main source of light. We purchased this light for a bathroom remodel. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we weren't able to install the light until outside of the return window. When we did install it, we realized that because the shades are solid and large, everything above the light became a black hole. The bulbs are not that bright and coupled with the design, it really makes the powder room dark. If your bathroom has a window or other lighting, this fixture will probably work for you.

Love it. It is very substantial.
