Style bougie classique/traditionnel 4 lumières lustre Polen

The wood is a very light color wood in the picture it looks much more mahogany or a brown tone which is what I was hoping for I feel like I can very carefully take some stain and change the color of the wood but its a little disappointing to pay that much money and have to finish the color of the wood to match. Looks like an ashy oak as you can see it almost matches the cardboard box to give you an idea of true color other than that the style is just what I was after so Im going to try and make it work.

The photo of the item is very deceiving. When it came, the wood on the piece appears to be "unstained" and "unfinished". I actually think this may have been forgotten before shipping it out. Is this possible? It definitely is not like the photo. I would like to use the piece, and could stain it to my liking, but that is not what you're supposed to do with a brand new piece you buy.
