Bought this for our baby's room, it has a sort of hinge that is not pictured in any of the images. It's fine, looks kind of "nautical," but that hinge took some getting used to. It kind of makes the light look a little visually unbalanced depended on where it's hung in the room. Really nice light though, a decent flush mount option for a bedroom that isn't so incredibly ho-hum looking. (Kid's room plus: you can hang little items for baby to look at from the things on the side!)
