Purchased this on an open box deal and crossed my fingers. Very happy. Not plastic like other blades. Theyre wood. The only thing to gripe about is the one beep thst sounds each time its turned on. I needed a ceiling fan for my screened-in porch. I didn't want to break the bank, so I waited for this to go on sale. Good quality, but not $875. (original price) worth of quality. I worried about the weight of the blades because it says "solid wood." I'm not sure that is the case, but then again, I'm not a carpenter. The blades are actually pretty. Just was installed today by my home care specialist, it took him 30 minutes to install it I already had a light fixture in the ceiling space . its quiet fast cooling , no noise at all ! remote control offers variety 3 or more of light settings. Yes the light can be turned off with fan still spinning cooling room ! I got 40 inch size blades because my ceiling has a bit of an angular shape . So it fits well , n looks great . The light fixture has been good overall. I put it in my daughter’s room. Not sure if it’s just my electrical situation or what but for some reason there’s like a solid 2 second delay between turning on the switch and when the light actually turns on. If I were to just keep the switch in the on position and only use the remote, this does not happen but it’s easier for my daughter to just use the switch. Also when you use the switch it reverts back to the medium color tone option so if you like it on the cool or warm setting you’ll have to either change it back each time or only use the remote to turn it on and off. It doesn’t put off the most light in the world… I should have added some can lights to the room when we were building but it’s enough light to be okay with it. If you are looking for lots of light tho this may not be for you. *update after 1 year and 4 months the light went out. The fan still works but not the light.
