The item is not 22", it measures out to 22 1/2". Needed to fill precut whole to replace defective unit. Now have half inch gap.

The under cabinet light provides really good light for working on the counter. We really like that, because it is 2700K, it gives a nice warm white light rather than the cold white that some lights provide.
