I purchased this lamp for the guest bedroom; It is a great weight, very unusual, and a marginally good price, but I gave it 4 stars because of the switch which is a cheap white archaic switch located on the cord. My husband fortunately was able to turn the lamp into a touch lamp at the base, which solved the problem.
