It has a golden metal base with a cutout design with a round fabric shade. It gives it a spark of interest wherever it's placed. It appear to glow when the lamp is turned on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t sure what a hurricane lamp was but, I figured this product would be a cute addition to my pc setup. It was a lot bigger than anticipated—perhaps hence the name—but it fits in perfectly with my decor. I plan on putting colored lightbulbs to see if it’ll look prettier than it already does. Really nice quality and would recommend.
