Instructions are hard to read and follow -- only a diagram with very tiny print, and an error or two, so it seems. There's no way to adjust the length of the chain and wires (don't ignore the wires [AC and copper ground wire] that dangle with the the chain; wrap them a couple of times around the chain so not so intrusive). You could cut the chain and wires, but then you'd have to open up one chain link, hook it to the top "ring" and then close up the link somehow, hoping it holds/works. I opted to use an S hook and double up the chain in one section, after it was hung; doesn't look great because you are also doubling up the electric cord and ground wire with it. Twist ties help. As my installer, offering encouragement said, "you won't notice it after a few days." Other than all that, the light, when lit shines nicely -- use 100 w equivalent led bulbs. Installing is definitely a two-person job, since the wire and chain have to be connected and fed through the shade and up into the cap where it connects to the ceiling. Finally, the description says this is cut glass. I assume it is, though it feels like some kind of plastic. But probably some kind of lightweight break-resistant glass, I think.
