First time around the lamp arrived broken. Wayfair replaced it. Overall, a super cute lamp. Love the pull chain. Light does have a downward effect — there is no opening at the top and the shade itself is not transparent (as it is metal). See photos. I love the lamp. Exactly what I needed/wanted.
