[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So.. we put all new Hunter ceiling fans in our house during a remodel. 5 of one model inside and 2 weather resistant ones under cover of our front porch. The ones I wanted only came as remote control … I was hesitant, but convinced myself this is a reputable company so it’ll be fine. It was not fine. You cannot individually program the remotes to each fan without it picking up another fan and deciding to control it simultaneously UNLESS you have every single one on a separate breaker (side note: this shouldn’t matter bc my husband wires them as true power off). Long story short, after months of calls with Hunter and them sending multiple diff styles of remotes and HOURS spent programming remotes using aluminum foil to shield them and only partially succeeding, the remotes sometimes wouldn’t activate the fan in the room you’re standing in, but would work for one in the far end of the house! They insisted they didn’t sell a hardwired remote bc the wireless receiver couldn’t be left out of the loop, but after much research, I decided they were wrong. We removed the receiver and hardwired our fan/lights and I will never go back. I can control them from my phone, Alexa or from the wall switch. You have to be kinda specific in what you say, but I think that’s more Alexa than anything else. My ONLY complaint is they very occasionally go offline.
