Exactly what I needed but it's a shame the cost is so much. I'm a DIYer and this item shouldn't be more than a couple of bucks at most with free shipping. Unfortunately the DIY centers don't carry them in store. You can order and they are cheaper online from the DIY centers but they only have black and the shipping time is even longer so I was kinda stuck. It did the job and looks great! Worth getting the right color instead of settling.

Large packaging for a small item.

Did what it was designed to do. Decided after professional installation that the our stairwell fixture was too long (hung too low), but looping the chain looked messy. Too much work to get to the 20 foot ceiling to shorten at the box, so this was a much easier solution. Significantly challenging to get the two pieces together with the metal clip, but vise grips helped that occur but still required a lot of attempts and brute strength. Final result is nearly invisible.
