The metal mesh around the light is very durable . It hangs so we actually used it atop my son's work desk in his school room. It gives a great amount of light exactly where he needs it. I hired someone to install it but it was pretty simple and easy for him. The light is super good quality and at an affordable price. It will spruce up any space you decide to use it in. I highly recommend. We get so many compliments on it. I'm a very happy customer indeed.

It fit perfectly over his cage and give him the right amount of light without being too disruptive to others. The metal black mesh and gold accent fit my decor perfectly. Installation was a breeze and it looks like it should have always been there.
