Great light at a great price! My wife and I looked all over town for a good billiard light that would match the decor in the bar area of our basement. We were in a rush to get a light while the electricians were still on call. The first light we ordered online was cheap and flimsy. After pricing similar (uglier) lights than this one we realized we were going to bite the bullet on another online order and risk it. Shipping was FAST and it looks fantastic. It even came with the antique looking bulbs. We were not concerned with the amount of light over the table since we have 4 flush mounts around the perimeter of where the table will be. I think you could get away with this light over a 7'-8', but I would avoid if you have a 9' and no additional light overhead. This light also gave us the freedom of getting the height off the table just right. It comes with several different size downrods and we had no problem getting that perfect height even from a relatively low basement ceiling. I would definitely recommend this light to a friend, but I don't really have to because all of my friends that have seen it freakin' love it. If you read this far, just buy it, you will love it.
