UPDATE: your customer service dept replaced the lamp no problem. You guys are the best!! I love the lamps but one of the two is not letting me assemble it. there's something wrong with the screw in part and I'm going to have to get it replaced.

These lamps are more dark gray than black. We love the shape of them, the shades are very nice quality and the top finials are larger than shown and look great! So happy with this purchase!
