Well packaged with forthright instructions. We had it together within 25 minutes. The (white) shade is linen-like cloth fabric with tiny clips attached. You stretch it around the wire top and the diffuser bottom base. My advice: make sure there are no gaps, and stretch slightly as you go. The fabric fits the cage exactly, and if you leave gaps, you'll run out of shade where it meets the opposite end; attaches with a velcro strip. Shade measures 16 1/2" x 7 3/4" which is plenty big for most dining tables. I was afraid it would sit too high over the table, but at 34" above my counter-height table, it's just right. If your dining table is regular height, adjust accordingly. The shade emits a nice glow over the dining table...just the right ambiance for dinner parties. The base is heavy and quite beautiful. The step on/off is handy (unless you're placing it behind a sofa). Be aware. This lamp looks great over our cabin-in-the-woods dining table and adds a touch of mod to our rustic interior. Very happy with this purchase.

I’m happy with the product. The box it came in was pretty beat up and the inside styrofoam was a mess. Assembly was pretty straight forward.

It looks great. The shade is a little wrinkled but that’s my only knock against it. We get lots of compliments!
