this is beautiful but unfortunately, the bottom of the globe shattered during a strong storm. it is still hanging in the tree next to our porch, higher and out of reach, as it sparkles in the sunlight.

Not really built for outdoor use. The blue coating wore off in less than a year of hanging outside. It's still out there as a now-silver ball, but it doesn't have the same effect and the solar lights quit working within about a year.

**Unfortunate Update— 1-star review The blue paint is applied to the outside of the glass ball instead of the inside, where it would be protected from daily wear and tear. Unfortunately, after just one season outdoors, the paint is showing significant chipping. 3star review— It looks beautiful for the first few hours, but it doesn’t stay lit all night, and I’m disappointed by that. I’ve moved it around the property— to the backyard, the front yard, and the side of the house— but it only stays on for a few hours. What's even more surprising is that we have almost all-day sun in both the front and back yards, so you would think a solar lamp would be fully charged. It is what it is; I just don’t understand.

Having problems! Does t not work! Have place it in many different locations and will lite up on the bottom for just a short time!

It is definitely not a matte finish. It is very pretty and looks beautiful in my greenhouse during the day and especially at night. Love it.
