The post does come with a sectional pole that must be twisted together. The ground is frozen here so we ended up zip-tying it to an archway for now. Some of the solar floodlights available are brighter than this light. Plastic lantern and the pole is metal.

looks great has post and a base to attach to deck or a way ro attach to hand rail by removing some of the length of post the solar lite is very bright and gives plenty of brightness to see was easy to assemble like it very much

Wrong item received, but nice enough to keep as is. This different lantern will not work as I had planned, but will use in an alternate location. It comes with a pole and stand and does have to be mounted in cement or on a heavy board. It is very wobbly and lightweight. The lamp size is very large and comes with a bulb. Very, very simple to assemble. Took 5 min.
