The "heavy base" isn't heavy enough to keep the lamp from tipping over, and the lens only works if it's right in front of the work so it gets in the way of your hands.

Just what I needed. I just wish that the on/off switch was at the light instead of the base.

The lamp is sufficient. I wish the brightest setting were a bit brighter and the twist clamps aren’t sufficient to really hold it at an angle. Because of the limited ability to position the lamp where I want it, the magnification is also of very limited use.
