This lamp is really nice, modern and was perfect for my living area space. However the way it which it was boxed and packed with huge pieces of disintegrating styrofoam was ridiculous! I had shards and small pieces of foam everywhere. Why are things packed using this stuff anymore? It's horrible. It was practically impossible to get the lamp out of the box!. Mellisa. I purchased an open-box unit and it looks great. The base is very heavy and provides solid support for the arc lamp. At first, I thought I had tightened the Allen screws that secure the extending pole, but I hadn’t, and it slipped. Once I fixed that, everything held firmly. I assembled it on the second floor and then moved it to a third-floor bedroom. There was quite a bit of shaking due to the arc shape, but it maintained its structure without any issues.
