It came with a couple scratches in the metal, and the two.mounting screws were too thin to work with the existing electrical box. I just used some spare screws that I had onhand,and the scratches were minor so I kept it. Installation was relatively easy to do by myself. The screws between the plate and the stem are a little too longing this causes it to feel wobbly when installed correctly but it hasn't fallen down yet so I think it's fine? You do need a small (glass not screw) 40w bulb to fit the ball over, which I found odd since I got the matching table lamp and that fit over a standard 60w bulb.
