I purchased the Hamilton Locking Post-mounted Mailbox a few months ago. It took a while for it to finally arrive but it was worth the wait. We are currently waiting for the post cover to arrive so you'll see only the 4x4 wood post in the photos. Our old mailbox was a standard mailbox but was not a cheap one. It was aluminum, not plastic, yet it could not withstand the opening and closing by our mail carriers . On July 2nd the carrier completely broke off the hinges to the mailbox door. We had similar problems before with a bent mailbox flag and bent door frame. I knew it was only a matter of time before the damage would be beyond repair. For these reasons I ordered the Hamilton Locking mailbox. It appeared to be up for tough duty and we were not disappointed when it arrived. It is heavy weight, seems extremely durable, hopefully tough enough to withstand the abuse by our carriers. I love that it locks adding more security for our mail until we can retrieve it. We both work and are often not at home when the mail is delivered. I chose the white color to match the future color of our home (White with black trim and gold/brass accents). It screams elegance and is one of the most unique mailboxes in our neighborhood. I love the "flag" as well. You simply slide it out when you have mail to be picked up! My husband was finally able to get the time with the recent holiday weekend to set the post and install the mailbox. Once again please forgive the bare wooded post. That is only temporary until our new post arrives. The new post will slip right over the 4x4 wood post. We are very happy with our choice and would highly recommend this product!

You could stick your entire arm in. Mail can be easily stolen. Returned it

Nice mailbox. Good quality in general. Husband had to fix a piece on the inside shortly after installation but it’s holding well now. Expect it to last for years.

Great mailbox. I purchased this to replace an existing old, rusting mailbox of the same design. I live in a coastal area, so the salt air does a number on everyone’s mailboxes. I stayed with this model as many of the homes in the neighborhood have the same one and I like the consistency. Hopefully this will last a while-even though it’s the exact same model by the same manufacturer, it seems better constructed and has a stronger paint finish than the one I replaced. **Update- paint finish has degraded noticeably since my original review. Finish has large areas of missing paint. Disappointed now. Plus my mail is getting wet!? I would not buy this again.

Absolutely terrible. If you want wet mail every times it rains, this is it. Contacted customer support ande they acknowledged they know about the problem. Attempting to get refund.
