I ordered this to go at the corner of my front porch where I have a small rectangle umbrella to help block the afternoon sun. The one that I had at this location was great but over the years the tube holding the pole to the base became loose and allowed the umbrella to spin in the wind. Very infrequently was the wind ever enough to tip the thing over. This new stand arrived and I was impressed with its weight but disappointed that the bottom was unfinished. Upon assembly though it did appear solid and would be a firm fit for the umbrella pole. But, later that evening, in what I thought was just mild wind, the umbrella stand fell over twice. So, I do not have much hope that this will make the week, let alone the rest of the season.
