The base is pretty sturdy. It arrived quickly. I like the look of it. I filled with water, but it is recommended to fill with sand. I have yet to find play sand in my neighbourhood - they are also hot commodities these days due to the pandemic, so it's fine for now with water. Plus, we do not put up the umbrella when it gets a little windy. Unfortunately the packaged was missing a screw that was meant to secure the bottom of the base with the centre steel pole for more stability. Contacted Wayfair, they sent me a replacement and it arrived pretty quickly as well, which is a bonus since we have absolutely no shaded area in our backyard.

Pricey but solid and stable. Umbrella should not topple over with this base.
