Hanging Tube Bird Feeder

Been using Droll Yankee bird products for over 35 years. I was thrilled to find squirrel-proof bird feeders available at Wayfair.

When it comes to "squirrel-proof" bird feeders, this is good as it gets. At the worst, the squirrels can reach in the ports and pluck one seed at a time. At best, if there's no nearby perch for the squirrels to position themselves, the best they can do is to eat the seeds that the birds drop.

Actually, the little perches on it break easily. (It's not the squirrels; it's the bigger birds, like Grackles.) I wish they had replacement bottoms for it. As it is, my husband rigged it with glue so that the perches don't come down and prevent bigger birds or squirrels from getting into it. But it doesn't break anymore, and we don't have a problem with the squirrels anyway. (We pay them off with cracked corn scattered in the driveway. They get so huge that jumping up there is no longer in their wheelhouse. Even the hawks avoid them. "Woof... I can't eat all THAT," I can imagine them thinking.)
